Preface

Tons of resources online try to shed some light on weight loss and weight gain, few provide facts. Of them, none are written comprehensively or have become a go to reference for weight management. We aim to fill that gap.

Although we have used scientific literature to build this handbook, we could be victims of cognitive bias. If anything in this handbook is scientifically inaccurate, please do let us know by contacting us using any of these channels. We would be grateful.

With modern medicines and surgical advancements, there are many treatments and procedures to loose weight. However, considering their cost, side effects, sustainability and propriety, we suggest natural metabolic process to manage weight — in other words, food and exercise.

We believe that loosing and gaining weight are tough but achievable objectives; and the so called tips for faster results do not work. May even make things worse for you. This handbook does not offer you tips, and is written with the goal of educating you on the science of weight management.

As with all our handbooks, this is for the reader in you; not the skimmer. Nor is it written for the search engines or Internet bots. Every line we have written is significant, and to grasp the significance, you must read.

Hoping that this handbook is of some benefit to you.
